Singer-songwriter, Ben Lee, releases his ninth album this October 11, 2011 (Dangerbird Records). ”Deeper Into Dream” features original artwork made by Lizzy Waronker. Heap 12 is featured on the front cover. Additional heap sculptures can be seen on the back cover and inside the album sleeve. These artworks were made specifically for the project, playing upon the juxtaposition of dream images and their deeper meaning.
Lizzy Waronker’s ” Tower” can be seen in the cross-city event, Pacific Standard Time.
Pacific Standard Time is a Pacific cultural collaboration beginning this fall and continuing through spring 2012. Initiated through grants from the Getty Foundation, a selection of galleries in Culver City, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and the Greater Los Angeles area will participate and showcase works made during (or inspired by) the era, from the years immediately after World War II through the turbulent 1960s and 70s.
Participating artists will be showcasing selected upcoming works that connect with the Pacific Standard Time Initiative, as well as the development of the L.A. art scene circa 1945-80.
